The thick layer of peat bog is set aside in order to extract the mud as cleanly as possible. Once the extraction is complete, the layer of peat bog is put back to minimize the extraction footprint. \u201cNatuku\u201d means \u201cthe root that heals\u201d in the Innu language. The history of Innu civilization tells the story of how, for millennia, the people used this mud, a unique source of minerals, for its healing and restorative properties.<\/p>\n<p><em>Natuku Minerals<\/em>\u2019 scientists and researchers created a range of modern products inspired by how the Innu people used the mud.
