The Musée de la Côte-Nord is located in the city of Sept-Îles, and it has a regional focus. As the only accredited museum open year-round, it brings together the expertise (conservation, curation, research, education and dissemination) and infrastructure required to preserve, curate and disseminate the Côte-Nord’s cultural heritage. With its various storerooms that meet artwork conservation standards, the Musée acts as a custodian of the Côte-Nord’s heritage. Its collections comprise more than 10,000 objects preserved for the public good.
With a permanent exhibition showcasing the region’s history at a single accessible, inclusive, interactive and immersive location, the Musée de la Côte-Nord plays a critical role in its region’s cultural dynamic.
The Musée de la Côte-Nord also acts as a consulting and anchoring organization in numerous matters related to preserving and showcasing the regional heritage, as well as disseminating visual arts and promoting cultural tourism, thanks to its relationships with various partners. That is how it contributes to making the Côte-Nord’s culture more widely known, in addition to supporting other organizations within the region.
