Natuku Minerals is a young company that creates products made from the mud found below the peat bog on the Manicouagan Peninsula, on the Côte-Nord. The thick layer of peat bog is set aside in order to extract the mud as cleanly as possible. Once the extraction is complete, the layer of peat bog is put back to minimize the extraction footprint. “Natuku” means “the root that heals” in the Innu language. The history of Innu civilization tells the story of how, for millennia, the people used this mud, a unique source of minerals, for its healing and restorative properties.

Natuku Minerals’ scientists and researchers created a range of modern products inspired by how the Innu people used the mud.
