CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
VOLUNTEER ADMINISTRATORS
The Musée de la Côte-Nord (MCN) is looking for candidates to sit on its board of directors.
This call for applications aims to recruit volunteer administrators from the following sectors :
- Private sector representatives (companies, groups of companies, financial sectors or others).
- Representatives of non-profits in the culture and heritage sector.

The Musée de la Côte-Nord
The Musée de la Côte-Nord is an accredited museum institution recognized by the ministère de la Culture et des Communications. Located halfway between Haute- and Basse-Côte-Nord, and at the heart of cultural life in Sept-Îles, the Musée de la Côte-Nord is dedicated to preserving, curating, studying and showcasing the regional heritage. Within its walls are more than 10,000 artifacts that make up its archaeological, ethnological, scientific and artistic collections. Its efforts: Showcasing the Côte-Nord’s heritage through intervention museology at a regional scale | Protecting, preserving, curating, studying and exhibiting the Côte-Nord’s heritage in the fields of ethnohistory, archaeology and the natural sciences | Promoting art by disseminating works by local artists, while hosting varied exhibitions from other areas.
Sitting on the MCN’s board of directors means :
- Being part of a team that cares about protecting and showcasing the Côte-Nord’s heritage.
- Supporting the mission of an organization that has been part of the Côte-Nord’s cultural ecosystem for over 45 years.
- Contributing to the strategic thinking and direction of an organization carrying out major projects.
We are mainly looking for these skills and abilities :
- Demonstrating a clear interest in cultural and heritage issues.
- Being motivated to make progress on the Musée’s projects to pursue its mission.
- Hold a position with responsibility or influence within an organization or group representing a sector relevant to the positions to be filled.
- Be recognized in your field for your expertise, skills and leadership.
- Have solid knowledge of non-profit governance practices (an asset).
- Have a keen sense of integrity, as well as strong teamwork and operational strategy skills.
- Be available for board activities as required (6 meetings per year).
The Musée de la Côte-Nord believes diversity and inclusion foster collective intelligence, and as such, the board of directors seeks to have a balanced composition taking into account generational and regional diversity and representation.

Interested applicants have until Friday, November 24, 2023 to submit a résumé (CV) and cover letter to the following address : direction@mrcn.qc.ca.
Date of the next AGM: November 27, 2023 at 8 PM at 500 Boulevard Laure, Sept-Îles. For Côte-Nord residents living outside the City of Sept-Îles, the AGM will also be held by video conference. The hyperlink can be sent to you on request.
