Produced by the Ville de Baie-Comeau, the exhibit Hauterive: Views from the Past shows a series of 86 photos, a collection of artifacts drawn from the Musée de la Côte-Nord’s storerooms, and archive footage from the Eudists. They retrace, sometimes with a hint of emotion, the history of the founding of Hauterive and the story of the trailblazing families who accompanied Bishop Labrie on this daring journey.
Among the collection of artifacts on display, some are being shown for the very first time. Discover sacred artifacts that belong to the Eudist missionaries collection as well as the 18th century episcopal throne given by Colonel Robert R. McCormick to Bishop Napoléon-Alexandre Labrie for the Hauterive chapel.
This exhibit was produced thanks to a partnership between the Cultural Development Agreement, the Ville de Baie-Comeau, the organization Le Grand Rappel, the Musée de la Côte-Nord and the ministère de la Culture et des Communications.
