Let’s explore the Musée !

Together with a member of the mediation team, discover the captivating story of one of Sept-Îles’ first inhabitants. Learn to identify artifacts like an archaeologist and put broken objects back together like a curator. Discover the hints left by the past and explore the legends of the first human populations on the Côte-Nord.

Let’s be creative !

Let your imagination run free and make costume elements for the party, inspired by your discoveries. In this fun activity, you will add a unique touch of style to your outfit while creating a personalized souvenir.

Let's eat !

Now is the moment you’ve been waiting for: time to eat cake! All these discoveries and fun times whet your appetite, so enjoy snack time, eat some cake and then, finally, open the gifts! Take some souvenir photos either by yourself or as a group and leave feeling refreshed. This snack and gifting period is hosted at the parents’ discretion.

The Wheel of Discovery

a board game inspired by the Côte-Nord

Produced by the Musée’s team, this collaborative board game will take visitors of all ages through the Côte-Nord – Stretches of Time exhibition. The wheel offers 8 themes, such as “Animals” and “Transportation”. Gameplay is simple: turn the wheel, draw a card about the theme you get, and search the exhibition to find the answer to the question. The goal of the game is to discover the fascinating history of the Côte-Nord, tackle the challenges on the cards, and win one of the collectible Storeroom Treasures. To get one of those treasures, you need to solve 12 cards, which takes about 45 minutes of playtime.

Collect the Storeroom Treasures

For almost a year and a half now, as part of the Digital Access to Heritage project, the Musée’s team has been working to digitize the artifacts in its collection. An enormous amount of work has been done. More than 500 artifacts are now viewable online through various Web platforms, and of them, 8 were chosen for 3D printing exclusively for the Wheel of Discovery game. These artifacts are accompanied with a fact sheet and represent a sample of the collection curated by the Musée de la Côte-Nord. They are awarded to visitors taking part in the Wheel of Discovery game, who can collect them like a curator would.
