Objectives

This privacy policy deals with managing and protecting information deemed confidential within the Musée de la Côte-Nord. In particular, it deals with information about members, collaborators, employees, volunteers and board members.

Its objectives are as follows :

  • Define how your personal information is collected and processed.
  • The following pieces of personal information are all considered personally identifiable information: your first and last name, mailing address, e-mail address, phone number, date of birth, location and IP address.
  • Inform data subjects of their rights regarding this information and of the entities to which it is disclosed.
  • Provide us with guidelines for data exchange both inside and outside the organization’s walls.

Scope

This policy applies to all staff and volunteers working with the organization, in particular in the following places and contexts :

  • Workplaces.
  • Any other place where people are required to be in the course of their employment (e.g. meetings, training, travel, social events hosted by the organization).
  • Correspondence through technological or other means.

Definitions

  • Discretion : The ability to keep private and confidential information obtained outside the workplace secret in order to maintain respect and confidence.
  • Confidentiality : The act of restricting or preventing others’ access to private information obtained in the course of their employment.

Discretion standards

Any person taking part in discussions within the Musée de la Côte-Nord that are unrelated to their job duties must act with discretion.

To that end, they must :

  • Respect people’s privacy.
  • Refrain from disclosing confidential information obtained within the organization or as part of activities.
  • Know how to keep sensitive information secret when people confide in them.
